About the event
Osteoporosis Canada has reached out to our Rotary Club for help in increasing awareness of the importance of bone health and osteoporosis. The more we are aware of osteoporosis as we age, the more we can help ourselves and others. We have decided a Zoom session with Rotarians and our friends and family would be best way to spread the word. With that, Osteoporosis Canada has arranged a Zoom session for Monday, March 22 at 7:00 PM Atlantic time. Details are below.
Please consider sending this invitation to others who might be interested, particularly those who might be at risk of developing this disease. BTW this session is not just for women! While osteoporosis is sometimes thought of as a disease that affects predominately women, it is substantially under-reported, under-diagnosed, and under-treated in men.
This will be an ONLINE Zoom session organized by Cathy Pearcy, one of the Community Engagement Coordinators for Osteoporosis Canada. The presenter will be JD (John-David) Brown who is a Dalhousie University student, graduate, and osteoporosis volunteer in Halifax.
JD will give a presentation and then take questions from the audience. Please register in advance for this meeting by using the link below. After registering, you will receive a message with another link to be used to access the session on the 22nd. https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZcsdemgrjIrGdzX3ebbYWhDONL_3PF2xy45
The topics to be discussed include:

Risk factors

How to live well with osteoporosis
Bone basics
Fracture prevention and more
Thanks to Osteoporosis Canada for arranging this session.
