What is the Order of Nova Scotia?

The Order of Nova Scotia is the highest honour of the Province of Nova Scotia. Established in 2001, it encourages excellence by recognizing Nova Scotians for outstanding contributions or achievements. A call to action for G20 Governements - This article appeared in Small Business Q!uarterly - Vol 13, No 4, February 2012

Recently, Ernst & Young produced a report entitled Entrepreneurs Speak Out: A Call to Action for G20 Governements for the G20 Young Entrepreneurs Summit, which took place from October 31 to November 2, 2011.  The report uses a combination of macroeconomic indicators, business environment indicators and surveys to assess the environment of entrepreneurship in G20 countries. It highlights five key pillars needed to build a successful enterprise environment: entrepreneurship, culture, education and training, access to funding, regulation and taxaqtion and coordinated support amoung the different public agencies involved in facilitating and supporting entrepreneurship within a country.   The full report is available at http://www.ey.com/entrepreneurship-barometer. 

The 5th Annual Curling Fun Spiel was  held on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at the Bridgewater Curling Club.  Fourteen teams took part in the one day event. There were trophies, prizes and draws for the curlers.  The feedback has been that is was a great day for everyone who took part.  A big thank you goes out to the sponsors, the volunteers and of course the curlers.

The delicious food from Two Chefs Restaurant and the Best Western Hotel and Convention Centre in Cookville, received great reviews, especially the unique sandwiches and wraps from the Best Western. Super job that was much appreciated by the hungry curlers.
