Sustainability Festival – Saturday, August 21, 2010
Sustainability Festival 2010 extends from the Bridgewater Integrated Community Sustainability Plan – a process the Partners have been involved with over the past 2 years. Several Partners and volunteers have come together to organize the event, and we expect over 500 participants including guests, volunteers, vendors and performers.
Admission is free to Growing Green!
The Festival will include local book readings, art displays, food ND drink, kid and family activities, community group booths, skills demonstrations and workshops. All of the events are designed to promote participation and open up the discussion on living green. The festival strives to celebrate and inspire healthy, ecological lifestyles. Growing Green! is funded by the Town of Bridgewater and local sponsors and coordinated by our team of Community Volunteers, Town Staff and Council.
This is a broad call-out for support from all our Partners and the wider community to support the Festival in one or more of the following ways:
- As a sponsor – a limited number of slots available for only $50
- As a vendor – you can sell sustainable / ecologically responsible products or services (according to the Festival’s Sustainability Guidelines), or food and drink
- As an “information kiosk” – offer information on non-profit services or programs that help community members meet their basic needs and/or live more sustainably
- As a “green living skills” demonstrator – teach community members skills and crafts that will help them live more sustainably
- As a performer or artist – add music, color and fun to the event
- As a volunteer – lots of support is needed behind the scenes and on the day of the event!
Details of these roles are described in the Growing Green! Event Information and Guidelines document. You can also visit our website at www.growinggreenfest.com.
If you are interested in supporting the event, or would like more information, please don’t hesitate to contact me as soon as possible. We look forward to a great day!
Sincerely, Leon de Vreede, Sustainability Planner, Town of Bridgewater (541-4390)
