1. A Word from President Vernon Cornish...I think it is safe to say that the 25 Chamber members who attended the Alive @5 at Boston Pizza last evening (Thursday, November 8th) had a great time. I want to offer a special thank you to the management at Boston Pizza in Bridgewater. The food was delicious, the company great and the atmosphere was welcoming. Carol Eaton, Community Relations Coordinator with Boston Pizza, gave members of the Chamber an overview of the events happening at the restaurant and sports bar. They have a very busy schedule and offer live entertainment as well as karaoke nights. They are also involved in community support and have a program to help community groups with fundraisers. For more information about any of these please contact Carol at 530-3663. Thank you to the members of the Chamber for making this event a success.
There have been a number of businesses in Bridgewater and Area that have received calls from Canadian Labour Compliance Agency, a privately owned Ontario based company. The Chamber of Commerce has issued an email to our members warning them about purchasing WHMIS training from this organization. Please contact the provincial department of Health and Safety at 1-800-641-4049 if you have questions about whether your company is in compliance with WHMIS requirements.
The Board of Directors of the Bridgewater and Area Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that Premier Rodney MacDonald will address Chamber members and guests on Wednesday, November 21, 2007 at 7:00 pm at the Wandlyn. Details on registration for this event are included on the chamber website and later in this newsletter. Don't be disappointed, register early as seating is limited.
The chamber is working with the Town of Brigewater to find a solution to the VIC. Where it will be? Who will run it? What will be involved? All of these questions are being discussed and progress is being made although no final decisions have been made at this time.
There are several events in the planning stage. A full listing is available on the website. Please check it regularly for updates.
